No achievement arises out of default. Lord Budha taught the immortal truth: we are today what we thought in the past; therefore we can be tomorrow what we think today. On a temporal plane, we can translate this to mean that we can make things happen. First we contemplate what we want and then we take action to make it happen. If we do not contemplate and let things drift, we will be, as Eknath Easwaran says, like a log being tossed about by the ocean. A clear understanding and dileneation of a desired result is the most important step in its achievement; the next step is to align action towards the result. Therefore, clarity of result increases the probability of achievement; in fact the secret of achievement is as follows:
- Probability of Achievement of result is directly proportionate to clarity of result.
Translating this secret into a business setting means the following:
- Specifying required results in all areas of business increases the probability of achievement
- Targets are mandatory in all areas of the business
- Focus on targets enhances probability of achievement
